Amazing place for fresh sashimi takeout! A large variety of cuts, with the option for having it sliced and/or with rice. They also sell sushi/sashimi rolls/sets/trays to go. It’s not cheap, but seems comparable to sushi restaurants and arguably has better quality than most places. It’s usually quite busy, but service is fast!

I love taro for reliable fresh fish selection, multiple options to eat, and fair prices. Always my go to place to get great sushi. If going with groups can select your own cuts of unique seafood!

One of the best quality and reasonable prices you'll get in any places and is the main reason I keep coming back. The parking lot is pretty small and can get filled easily. Went in, ordered, got a buzzer, and waited about 5-10mins for a fresh to make order. They also sell cuts of fish in the fridge area ranging from 30-100 a lbs and when you ring it up they can slice it for you like a butcher and they can do sashimi cuts or cuts for you to add at home sushi or any custom cuts. For a cheaper alternative (quality at Taro Fish is unmatch), you can go to Galleria, get sushi grade salmon for around 17lbs, but you gotta slice up a huge cut of salmon and skin it which a lot of people aren't capable of or have the right tools to do so and it's also worth doing it yourself if you want to save. You'll also realize how labor intensive it is to cut up a fish and is why most places charge around 25-30lbs. Highly recommend to come here based on quality, service, and reasonably priced.

Taro Fish – A Hidden Gem for True Sushi Lovers From the outside, Taro Fish might not catch your eye — but once you know, you know. This unassuming spot is an absolute treasure trove for sushi lovers and anyone who appreciates top-tier seafood. The quality here is unmatched — sushi-grade fish that rivals, if not surpasses, what you'd find at high-end restaurants. Every cut is fresh, clean, and handled with care. Whether you're picking up for a sashimi night at home or just grabbing something simple, the consistency and quality never disappoint. It’s the kind of place you tell your closest friends about — but also kind of want to keep secret. A local gem through and through.

Taro’s is so fresh and delicious. I love the chirashi bowl, perfect for a lunch. The rolls are great too. A friend had cooked the frozen miso black cod when hosting us so I stopped by to grab some and had to get some fresh sushi. Great to call ahead and order!

Best place to buy sushi grade sashimi! I really like how you can pick your own piece of fish and have it sliced or made into sushi for you. Lots of fresh options but do come early cause some options do sell out fast. You can also purchase other frozen seafoods or Japanese items at the store. Service is also amazing as well!

Product/Service: 5/5 Amazing quality sushi and sashimi. If only I lived closer then this would be my go-to Japanese take out spot. Service is great, and although we had to wait, it was well worth it. Top notch. Location: 4/5 Better for driving. Parking was okay when we got there but I could see that it probably gets full sometimes. Price: 5/5 Reasonable prices for fresh sushi. Atmosphere: 4/5 Clean supermarket style. Definitely a great concept.

I finally went to visit Taro and his fish. I went on a week day with my S.O. during lunch time and it was popping. I was immediately drawn to the wall of fridges which offered a variety of fresh seafood selection. We wanted to try them all, but our wallet did not allow us. We ended up picking chu-toro SS (medium fatty tuna), o-toro SS (fatty tuna), organic salmon, scallop, and hamachi (yellowtail). We asked the sushi chef to slice it up real good. While we waited for them to prepare the sashimi, we browsed the frozen food selection. Some items that caught my eye included the teriyaki salmon head and the prepackaged spicy ramen. After the fish was ready to go, we also grabbed two packs of cooked sushi rice for 3 each. The total was around 155. The amount of food fed my S.O and I for two meals each. We ended up doing a 'home-akase' (omakase at home) and made our own handrolls. We got the nori at a local grocery store, but Taro also carries this. The quality of the fish was on par with omakase in Toronto. A fun date idea for half the price of going out.
